TNU Diligence: A program designed to ensure your Wide Area Network is configured correctly and remains that way on an ongoing basis.

A major challenge for companies using complex telecoms solutions is maintaining their documentation. The documentation of solutions should cover the high level Visio together with the configurations of all managed CPE. That’s just the technical side. On the business side it’s important to understand the flow of support and change requests together with detailed analysis of contracts, service levels, billing and the expertise of your account team. The complex telecoms sales process normally involves initial documentation of solutions but does not work to ensure this documentation is kept up to date on an ongoing basis. We typically find when changes are made to the network, these changes are not fully documented and there is limited due diligence to check whether there may be any impacts elsewhere in the network.

Initial documentation of Wide Area Network and telephony solutions this includes Visio documentation together with a spreadsheet containing detail such as routing protocol, IP addressing, interface details, bandwidths.

Documentation improvement plan.

With The Network Union, any new solutions would be documented to the same standard but for clients not looking to imminently change, we look to create an improvement plan. The plan is based directly from our documentation findings and will include an attempt to work with the telco to improve points of weakness. Slow change requests may, for example, be improved by pre-populating forms with basic every day changes such as route additions or

Quality of Service changes. Other improvement plans may be a result of analysis of router configurations and will require a number of changes to be made. Whatever the result, we’ll help raise require issues and change requests on your behalf with the account team. The thorough approach of our documentation process ensures major areas are considered. When clients are looking to change provider, the process of thorough documentation identifies strengths and weaknesses of existing solutions with the intent of avoiding these issues and problems with a new service provider. The documentation is ‘living’ and therefore updated by The Network Union whilst engaged by your company using an encrypted cloud bases storage systems. If a new provider is selected, the process is applied again to your new solution.
